The pilot here wants to follow

345 TO to the VOR station.
We can see that the aircraft is
heading towards the VOR station
(TO) and that the desired course
line is to the left of the aircraft's current position.
This means that the aircraft is to the right of the course line the pilot wants to
o
follow. Since each dot represents 2 (and there are two), the aircraft must be on
o
radial 161 (inbound). His heading is therefore 341 .
If the pilot follows his current course, he will eventually hit radial 165 and from
there he can follow radial 345 away from the VOR station.

its way away from the VOR.
