5.1.1 Operating segments
Segment information is presented in respect of the Agib’s business segments. The primary format, business
segments, is based on the bank’s management and internal reporting structure.
Business segments
The Bank comprises the following main business segments:
Investment Banking Includes the bank’s trading and corporate finance activities
Corporate Banking Includes loans, deposits and other transactions and balances with
corporate customers
Retail Banking Includes loans, deposits and other transactions and balances with retail
customers
Treasury Undertakes the bank’s funding and centralised risk management activities
through borrowings, issues of debt securities and investing in liquid
assets such as short-term placements and corporate and government ebt
securities.
