4 : CONTROL AND INFORMATION SYSTEM
Information systems
The need to respond quickly to local competitive pressures
has been explained. The ability to so respond will depend
upon, among other things, the flexibility of the information
base. The formation of strategy itself depends on the
quality and timeliness of information provided for the
decision-makers.
Strategy formulation requires an input from all levels of an
organisation but this flow of information must be
managed. In the same way the successful implementation
of strategy depends upon its being successfully
communicated downwards without dilution or distortion.
