Because of my husband’s job, we spent
many years in remote settings, having huge
gardens, orchards, chickens, ducks and
geese for eggs, and rabbits just because they
were cute.
Going to town was a whole day event, as the
one-way drive took some two hours. For
time management, we prepared and froze
seventy meals in advance, a 3-day process.
We harvested, canned, and froze vegetables,
fruits, and wild berries. With 2 refrigerators
and 3 freezers, we were set for 2-3 months
at a time.
