particularly drew the attention of the magazine directors regarding
the resistance was the factory occupation and the fact that the
          workers were producing for themselves.

Another interesting aspect of the magazine’s interest in the
resistance and its desire to write about it was that the representa-

tion in Turkey of the magazine is the Calik Group. So it is as
though the daughter of the Somuncu family and a partner in the
factory, Gaye Somuncu, who is the coordinator of relations with
the people for Calik Holding, were doing an interview with the
          Kazova textile workers.

The journalist doing the interview claimed personal interest
in the Kazova resistance and said the magazine’s directors were

also interested. The instruction to do an interview had come from
the directors of the magazine in the USA.

struggling to get their rights from the Somuncu family, one of
whom worked in Calik Holding which was part of the Calik
Group and they had organised protests in front of it, and they
asked whether the magazine could make news under those condi-
tions. The journalist was not able to determine whether or not

the magazine would report the news but would do everything to
pass it on to the directors of the magazine. It was up to the direc-
tors of the magazine to make a final decision about it and there
was nothing the reporter could do, but said the resistance of the
          workers was right and legitimate.

The resistance of the Kazova workers was certainly producing
echoes on every front. Both on the front of the workers and on
