        tory

On the third day of the holiday, on Thusday 17 October, the
Kazova textile workers came together at 2 pm to celebrate, follow-
ing a call from the Kazova resistance culture and art committee.

A large number of people took part although it was raining, and
the event was held inside as much as possible, on the ground floor.
They drank tea and chatted. Bulent Unal spoke for the Kazova
workers, starting the event by thanking participants for not leaving
        the resisters to struggle alone.

Caner Bozkurt, speaking on behalf of Idil Culture Centre,
together with the Otekiler Culture Centre, announced the start
of work in cooperation with the Kazova workers’ culture and art

committee. The speech continued: “We have come together to cel-
ebrate the holiday. We do not wish to be the only ones singing
songs. We do not have a theatre stage and spectators here but as
a kind of conversation, let us sing songs and folk songs.” Then
they rearranged the seats, and sang folk songs while dancing the
halay. Poems were also read out.

The Idil Culture Centre also performed a play, “You Can’t
Find Such A Prime Minister Anywhere”, as part of the festivities.
