SDP and the Anti-Capitalist Muslims came to support the Kazova
workers.

During the event, these slogans were frequently chanted: “We
are workers, we are right, we will win, long live our Kazova resist-

ance, we will win by resisting, Berkin Elvan is our honour, there
is no liberation by yourself, we are either all together or we are
nothing.”

The Story

Serhat Tutumluer: Our homeland is like this. It is the first

time something like this has happened the world over. A first in
the history of the workers’ movement in Turkey. It gives us pride
and honour. By uniting and by resisting we will win.

Pelin Batu: Kazova is inspirational. In our country the most
frequently seen injustice is a lack of respect for labour. The workers
have shown that the system can be turned inside out. They show
great enthusiasm going about their work. They are helpful is sell-
ing sweaters for women and children in prison. It is quite fasci-

nating when you reckon it all up.

Cihangir Balkir: We wish them to continue. The factories
must belong to the workers. This is something different, the work-
ers are putting together a new form of production. A new period
of resistance is emerging because the bosses have been swindling
so much.
