the people,” it said. A call was made to workers in the vicinity to
support this resistance and to take on duty at the tent. It was an-
nounced that there would be a fashion show to be held at 6 pm
on Saturday in front of the factory, and the action ended.

Chain Formed By Kazova Workers

The Kazova workers formed a chain on Thursday 26 Septem-
ber while marching from Mecidiyekoy to Sisli.

At half six in the evening the Kazova workers gathered at the
Mecidiyekoy metrobus stop and pasted up resistance photographs
and notices saying “THE KAZOVA WORKERS CALL FOR SOL-
IDARITY” and then they began to march. They chanted the slo-

gan “We will not allow Umit Somuncu to take away our rights,
we are workers, we are right, we will win, victory goes to workers
who resist, long live our Kazova resistance” as they marched to the
front of Sisli mosque. In the meantime, leaflets were distributed
to passers-by and workers supported them with applause and con-
gratulations.

When the workers got to Sisli Square they opened a banner
with the inscription “POWER COMES FROM PRODUCTION

– WE PRODUCE FOR OURSELVES”. They read out a press
statement saying that under the leadership of the DIH they had
been resisting since 27 February and since 28 June they had
stepped up their resistance by putting up a tent in front of the fac-
tory.
