posters with the words “THE KAZOVA WORKERS CALL FOR
SOLIDARITY” and then they started marching. In the meantime,
plainclothes and rapid reaction police put up roadblocks. Those
in the vicinity and workers reacted to the barriers, and chanted
the slogan “We will not allow Umit Somuncu to take away our
rights, we are workers, we are right, we will win, victory goes to
workers who resist, long live our Kazova resistance.” The police
prevented them from marching to Taksim with their roadblock,
so thy distributed leaflets near Sisli mosque while chanting their
slogans.
This Resistance Is The Resistance Of The Working Class
Of Turkey And The Peoples
At 1 pm on Wednesday 25 September, the Kazova workers
gathered in front of Sisli mosque and opened a banner with the
inscription “POWER COMES FROM PRODUCTION – WE
PRODUCE FOR OURSELVES”, and they chanted the slogan
“We don’t want charity, we want our rights, we won’t allow Umit
Somuncu to take away our rights, we will win by resisting, we are
worker, we are right, we will win” as they marched to the resistance
tents in Sisli Bomonti. This is from the press statement they is-
sued:
“We are the Kazova Trikotaj workers who were thrown out of
work without four months of wages, seniority and notice. To get
our rights back, we started resistance on 27 February 2013 under
the leadership of the DIH. We took our resistance to a higher level
by occupying the factory on 28 June. And now we are producing
for ourselves. To produce we do not need blood-sucking and par-
asitical bosses at our elbow. This resistance is a struggle for labour,
