The Kazova workers occupied their factory after their wages
and compensation were not paid and their resistance has started
production and they will put their products on display at a fashion
show today.
After occupying the factory, the workers repaired and re-
turned to production to the extent they were able the machinery
that was turned into scrap metal by their boss, and workers seek
to be both boss and worker as they resume production.
We are not able to meet demand
The workers said that the day following their first attempts to
sell their produce on the capitalist market, attempts were made by
the authorities to cut off the electricity, but they said no repression
could intimidate them, they say that “at the moment the factory
sale is 50 sweaters, in forums sales are between 30 and 40. We are
not able to meet demand. Even in Europe there are people who
want what we produce. In the coming days we will create a net-
work so we can send sweaters to Europe.”
The workers attach to their products a label with the words
“This is a product of the Kazova resistance” and in the near future
there will be a competition for a logo. The Kazova workers are
going to hold a fashion show today to introduce their merchan-
dise, and a number of artists and writers will take part, including
Ece Temelkuran, Grup Yorum, Pinar Aydinlar, Deniz Turkali,
Pelin Batu, Nilufer Acikalin, Ilkay Akkaya and Orhan Alkaya. Fa-
mous names will come onto the podium wearing the products.
