            Considerable Interest In The Socialist Fashion Show

            The Kazova workers occupied their factory after not being
        paid their wages or compensation and they have held a fashion
        show to introduce the first products they have produced since the

        resistance started, and a number of artists took part in the fashion
        show. Among the artists who came onto the stage to model were
        names like Pelin Batu, Cengiz Bozkurt, Hakan Yesilyurt and Alkay
        Akkaya.

            The Kazova workers first occupied the factory in which they
        worked, then they repaired the machines it and began to produce
        items – yesterday they presented to the market their products by
        holding a fashion show. About 200 people took part in the Kazova

        workers’ show in which some world-famous brands were displayed.
        The workers put up a podium and sales platform in front of the
        Kazova factory, saying they would produce good-quality products
        for the people at inexpensive prices, and added: “When we were
        thrown out of work we were stunned at first, not knowing what
        to do. When we went on actions we did not shout slogans. Later
        we learned to resist. Now we are producing without a boss.”

            “Occupy, resist, produce”


            “We will continue to produce,” they said. The writer Metin
        Yegin, who supported the Kazova workers from the first days of
        their resistance, said that capitalists had stolen many words from
        the workers and “we too have taken their words, namely, fashion
        show. This year’s model is ‘occupy, resist, produce’.  The employ-
        ment ministry should nationalise this factory and turn it over to
