Why don’t Carsi and Sol Acik do it?
Metin Yegin said Cuban and Basque football strips would also
be available for sale said:
“It would be very appropriate for football teams and their sup-
porters to wear such resistance strips.”
“Football supporter groups like Carsi and Sol Acik could also
do what Kazova does, so why don’t they do it?”
Mutual solidarity
Metin Yegin also talked about mutual solidarity:
“There are no big companies behind the Kazova workers,
there is the solidarity of the world’s workers. Creating football
strips for a country like Cuba that is under an embargo also carries
the meaning of solidarity.
“In this way the Kazova factory will also be exhibiting its prod-
ucts to the world.”
Saturday opening
The workers say, “We will produce good-quality and inexpen-
sive sweaters for the people,” and this Saturday they are opening
the DirenKazova – DIH culture centre and store.
The gathering point for the opening will be in front of Sisli
mosque, at 3:30 on 25 January. The workers have called on every-
one for solidarity. From here they will march to the shop and hold
the opening ceremony.
They resisted for 10 months
