The Halk Cephesi told the workers in resistance, “At present
the Somuncu family is protected by the AKP. Nothing else could
be expected from the AKP which is the enemy of the people.

Using the month of Ramadan as an excuse (Translator’s note: it
was either Ramadan at the time, or it was approaching), the ene-
mies of the workers and people are trying to throw dust in peoples’
eyes and cover up their vileness by appearing to be helpful.

We are revolutionaries of the Halk Cephesi and we will always
demand a reckoning from the enemies of the people and be on
the side of the resisters like you who will not give in to tyranny.

We will always support those who resist the oligarchy, impe-

rialism and the collaborationist monopolies and we will work to
make the resistance greater,” they said..

We Will Not Let The Somuncu Family Take Away Our
Rights…

The Kazova textile workers have been resisting for 73 days for

four month of wages, seniority and notice from their bosses Umit
Somuncu and Mustafa Umut Somuncu, and are continuing their
action in a tent they pitched in front of the factory. 13 days previ-
ously they occupied the factory but when they sought to sell ma-
chinery inside to settle debts the bosses complained to the police,
who intervened, causing them to start a hunger strike.

The workers marched in Sisli on the 11th day of the hunger

strike, Wednesday 10 July. They gathered in front of Sisli mosque
