Local Hospital Workers Visited The Kazova Workers

Local hospital workers thrown out of work as well as those
still employed by the hospital paid a solidarity visit to the Kazova
workers. They said the Kazova resistance was a model of resistance

for workers and they themselves would be resisting injustices. And
they presented it as a meaningful symbol of class solidarity and
        unity.

        Darphane Workers On Strike

On Sunday 15 July, the Kazova workers who are resisting for
their rights visited the strike tent of the Darphane workers. The

Darphane (Mint) workers, who are part of Basin-Is (print and
media workers’ union) said they would continue the strike, which
they decided upon on 8 July, until they got their rights. The Ka-
zova workers talked about their own resistance and referred to class
solidarity and unity, and “we believe that if we are united in re-
sisting we will get our rights. This is the meaning of our resistance.
We will be on the side of the Darphane workers,” they said.

Ibrahim Kilic, who said that he had been a repair worker at
Darphane for 20 years, said that in six months they had produced
well in excess of their capacity. Kilic said, “They have us working
according to the logic that any worker can do any work. One day
it is gold production, another day it is paper. On average they pay
1,500 lira. We want 2,000 lira,” he said.

The Darphane workers continued to add during the conver-
sation that “the institution is not favourable to workers and their

health. The Darphane workers print valuable documents but what
