The Health Department expects us to have a corrective action plan in place if we experience water issues in
our stores, and we are expected to make the restoration of hot water/water service a priority.
In the event your store loses hot water, loses all water or is included in a boil water alert, the store must shut
down until further evaluation can be made by the Crisis Team. After discussing the situation with the ROD/ROM
and Health Department officials, a determination will be made when to reopen. If you are considering leaving
the Midway open, you must follow local Health Department guidelines. These guidelines must also be followed
if you are considering having outside food brought in; e.g., pizza delivery. The health and safety of our Guests
and Team Members is our first priority, and we will always take a cautious approach.
ALL WATER EMERGENCIES – LOSS OF WATER, NO HOT WATER, BOIL WATER ALERT
DISCONTINUE FOOD OPERATIONS. DISCONTINUE SERVING GARNISHES WITH BEVERAGES. GAMES MAY
STAY OPEN IF THE LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT GUIDELINES GIVE YOU PERMISSION.
Contact your ROD/ROM.
The ROD/ROM will contact the Crisis Hotline and the Crisis Team will be notified.
The appropriate Crisis Team Members will provide direction and next steps, including having the Facilities
Manager head to the store to oversee and/or assist in correcting the situation.
Contact your local Health Department and make them aware of the situation.
Discontinue seating/serving Guests in the wait area and bar areas.
A Manager should be stationed at the entrance to greet Guests and to explain that in order to ensure our
Guests’ health and safety we cannot continue to prepare food because of a water emergency. Inform
Guests that the Midway is open if the Health Department allows you to.
Place a sign on the door explaining the situation (available on FunHub).
If Guests are already seated but have not received their food, you must follow local Health Department
guidelines regarding future service of food while your store is experiencing a water emergency.
