IF THE FIRE IS OUT OF CONTROL AND YOU ARE TRAPPED IN THE BUILDING …

 Call 911 and provide the operator with your location. Tell him/her of others that may be in the store and
where they might be located or the last place they were seen.

 Be sure to check closed doors for heat before you open them. If you are escaping through a closed door,
use the back of your hand to feel the top of the door, the doorknob, and the crack between the door and
doorframe before you open it. Never use the palm of your hand or fingers to test for heat – burning those
areas could impair your ability to escape a fire. If the door is hot, do not open.

 Crawl low under any smoke to your exit – heavy smoke and poisonous gases collect first along the ceiling.
 Once you have reached safety, seek immediate medical attention, even if you are not burned.

In the event of a natural disaster that negatively affects our team members’

homes or property, please encourage them to apply for the H.E.A.R.T. Fund or

apply on their behalf. If your store is closed multiple days due to a natural

disaster, your ROD may contact Jennifer Yarbrough to apply for a H.E.A.R.T.

fund grant for the entire store.
