Thanksgiving Peas

4 strips bacon -- chopped
1/2 cup Bermuda onion -- chopped
1 cup mushrooms
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons cooking sherry
16 ounces frozen peas -- (1 lb.) thawed
Brown bacon pieces. Saute onion and mushrooms in bacon grease until
mushrooms are well cooked and onions are translucent. Add flour and cream,
stirring constantly. As sauce thickens add seasonings and sherry. Peas are
added last, stir gently. Transfer to a baking dish or casserole (can be
made ahead). Warm in 275 degree oven.

NOTES : Made this for 2006 Thanksgiving. It is really good. I
don't like peas as a rule, but these were great. I didn't
even get seconds because Lynne took home all the
leftovers.
