              The Study of Quality of Life of Dementia Caregivers and results after

                                        providing Pharmaceutical Care

            Objective: This studied aimed to investigate the quality of life of dementia


            caregivers and outcome after providing pharmaceutical care.


            Method: Study was performed at the outpatient dispensary unit of pharmacy

            department, Prasat Neurological Institute during October 2012 to September

            2013. Caregivers who cared for patients with moderate to severe dementia for


            at  least  6  months  were  enrolled  into  the  study.Based  on  SF12  version  2,

            quality of life was assessed before and after providing pharmaceutical care.


            Result: The results showed that the overall average qualities of life levels for

            caregivers both before and after providing of pharmaceutical care were higher

            than those of United State criteria, 62.78+12.94 and 59.51+11.46, respectively.


            Conclusion:  This  outcome  indicated  that  dementia  caregivers  have  a  good


            quality of life. Then comparative studied on the quality of life both before and

            after providing of pharmaceutical care, the author founded that the physical

            dimension  has  a  lower  quality  of  life  scores  that  reflect  recession  physical

            burden of caregivers care for a long time. While the mental health dimension,


            after providing pharmaceutical care to make a higher quality of life.
