MORE SINGULAR AND PLURAL NOUNS
Truth to Teach (Source)
To discover how singular nouns ending in ss, sh, ch, zz, z or x are made plural
Way to Work (Means)
1. Review previous lessons on nouns.
2. Have pieces of paper with singular nouns ending with the above letters in a
bag or box. Let each child take one. Ask if anyone can spell the plural form of
the noun.
Write these on the board as they are shared. Discuss which letters are
needed in each case to make them plural (es).
Eg brush, church, cross, box, dress, circus, glass, fox, princess, fizz, sandwich,
crash, address, class, bush, bunch, hostess, authoress, six, match
