Later, Alonzo bids farewell to the ladies. He hugs Yvette and Mia and opens
the door; then takes his leave.
Much Later, Alonzo pulls up to a 3-Star hotel in south Kansas City, Missouri.
After packing his SUV, and taking his laptop with him, he closes the driver’s door and
alarms it, and saunters to the Lobby. Once in his hotel room, he places a phone call to
Yvette and June, and retires for the night.
Inside: Alonzo’s Hotel Room – 4:00 AM.
Alonzo’s up. He turns his laptop on, checks his email before heading into the
bathroom. He proceeds to trim and color his hair, shaves, and showers. About an
hour later, he checks out -- leaving his room key behind, and gaits to his SUV. First,
he walks around -- visually inspecting -- the SUV and tire pressures. He climbs in,
straps his seatbelt, and cranks the ignition; then heads out -- taking I-70 East.
Two-Hours into the trip: He takes his first break. Another three hours, he exits
the highway for another break. This time, he places a phone call.
June’s Townhome - Livingroom
Yvette’s -- lazing on the sofa -- watching her favorite cartoon character on TV;
then her smartphone rings. She glares at Caller ID, and smile. “Good morning, Dad.”
“Good morning, Sweetheart. Wanted to thank you and your mom.”
“You’re welcome, Dad.”
