“Sure, I’ll call you. Take care.”
After the handshake, Josh walks toward the front entrance, and disembarks,
and with the help of the Driver, he collects his luggage from the base. Soon, the Driver
returns to the bus, closes the door, and turns the ignition; then heads on to
Bentonville, Arkansas.
Later, Alonzo stares as the bus pulls into Rogers/Bentonville, AR Bus
Terminal. He chooses to remain in his seat -- seizing the time and opportunity to text
Yvette and, not too far along, Manuela in D.R.
Outside -- Bus Station -- Kansas City, Missouri
The next morning -- seventeen hours’ post Lafayette -- the bus 45-feet by
9-feet luxurious bus safely arrives to the Kansas City Station. As the bus slows down
to maneuver into the Station, Alonzo catches a glimpse of Yvette -- standing next to
their gray Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (JGC) on Troost Avenue.
Moments later -- inside the bus -- Alonzo patiently waits on his seat, allowing
others ahead of him to get off.
A little while, Alonzo steps outside of the Station -- Yvette dashes -- toward
him. The two embraces -- following almost a 3-month absence.
“Good morning, Dad.”
“Good morning, Sweetheart ...” looks in astonishment. “... Wow, look at you.
You’re looking all grown.”
