“All’s well. Hope you’re hungry. There’s dinner waiting.”
“Sure, I’m famished.”
Just then, a teenage co-ed saunters in. “Hi, Uncle.”
Getting on his feet, “hi there, Mia. Whoa, look at you.”
“Sorry, I couldn’t come to the station with Auntie and Yvette. Got in late last
night.”
“No worries, Mia. How are your parents?”
“They are fine, Uncle.”
After the hugs and pleasantries, Mia heads to the kitchen to assist Yvette.
Later, they all sit in the dining room -- partaking in a delicious home-cooked meal.
The meal offers an opportunity for all to catch up as well as Alonzo sharing his
experience in Punta Cana.
After dinner, “Wow! June, you’ve outdone yourself --"
Chuckles, “-- Your loss. Guess you chose to leap from fry pan into fire.”
Alonzo brings out gifts for Yvette and another pair of tropical sandals he
picked up for June.
