Faculty & Staff
One of the recipes for an effective fund development plan and subsequent
successful fundraising campaign (or appeal) is the involvement and engagement of both
the management and staff of the organization. Likewise, an institution’s faculty and staff
must be fully engaged for any institutional fundraising to be a success.
Accordingly, high levels of participation from management and staff (faculty and staff)
demonstrate their commitment to the Organization (Institution), which in turn has a
positive impact on individuals, corporations, foundations, and the public. Regardless of
the size of the gift, high levels of employees’ participation convey the Institution’s
commitment to the success of the Campaign. Consequently, it behooves the powers that
be to empower employees, regardless of their power, authority or earning to participate
and be engaged in the Institution’s Campaign (or Appeal). Hence, the need for a Faculty
and Staff Committee.
A Faculty & Staff Steering Committee, like any other committee, has as its
primary purpose, to remove obstacles and create pathways to success through the
development of a supportive environment that empowers and encourages faculty
and staff to be engaged and resourceful. It helps employees realize possibilities of
inspiring their teams and peers by revealing pathways that encourage fellow
employees to actively engage and support their institution.
