P. 27
• There was a question from Dinu regarding if they could participate in the business pitch
section. Adrian clarified that due to time and other constraints, and this being the first
virtual version of COY, this would not be possible at this point in time.
• Maziar thanked JA Guam and expressed optimism about COY progress. He also
mentioned that he reached out to our colleagues in Beirut, Lebanon regarding the
explosion.
• JAWW has requested a very simple COVID-19 spreadsheet (health check form) and
wants to know if there have been any direct COVID cases or impact amongst our team
– Maziar has been asked to share with all and will do so individually, with answers given
confidentially.
• Caroline Jenner updated Maziar about OECD hub of experimental schools – this could
involve high-tech or other innovative ways of promoting learning. We are asked to
nominate any schools in a handful of eligible countries (Australia, Japan, Korea, New
Zealand).
• We are also being asked to reflect on Prudence Foundation (Cha-Ching Curriculum) in
relevant countries – this is something we should be doing even if it was not requested.
3. JA AP on-line retreat – ideation and discussion
• Maziar broached the subject of a JA AP “virtual” retreat and sought input about
whether members find it valuable.
• Pinki expressed her support of the idea of a retreat.
• Shanthi also loves the idea of a retreat and wondered if there is the possibility to extend
it to larger teams in each market.
• Maziar acknowledged the widespread sense of isolation that we are all facing in the
wake of COVID and that a retreat could help to overcome this.
• Dinu gave a ‘thumbs up’ and noted she can possibly support with ice-breaking games.
• Rob also expressed interest in the idea and hopes we can extend the offer beyond EDs.
• Moonhwan also mentioned his support for this retreat.
• All agreed that there is a consensus about organizing a virtual retreat.
• ROC to follow up with survey on timing and focus areas for the JA AP Virtual retreat
soon.
