ADVERTISING YOUR OPEN COMPETITIONS
ADVERTISING YOUR OPEN COMPETITIONS
As I have said many times over the years, these pages are
YOURS not mine. Fairly recently I was asked about clubs ad-
vertising open events in the magazine. That’s fine and I’m
more than happy to do this but not on short notice as this is
a quarterly magazine. I understand that many dates are sorted months in advance and
in some cases up to 12 months, so why not advertise your event, if you want too of
course. I would need the date, the venue and the type of event and of course a contact
details so that players can get in touch directly.
BOWLING MATS AND EQUIPMENT WANTED
I sometimes get requests from new starter clubs etc. who are looking
for second-hand bowling mats and other equipment. I do not buy or
sell etc. but I put buyers and sellers in contact so that they can sort
thing between themselves.
They can also be looking for complete sets and also bowls but I
would remind everybody that you can also sell items in the magazine
by placing a Non-Commercial advert. I appreciate bowls are heavy and
expensive to post but you may find the buyer you are looking for if you can’t find one locally -
who knows?
