Davies (Letterston)
Kirsty Evans (Freystrop)
Kirsty Evans (Freystrop) their positive attitude and the skill they ex-
hibited. They are potentially future County
and Welsh players.
The draw as to whom played who was ran-
domly drawn but amazingly the last game of the day
saw the day’s two top players playing each other for
the Championship.
So it was that Sara and Cameron played out a
very, very close match that went down to the last
wood with Cameron just managing to ease out Sara
and retain his junior title.
A big thank you is due to Clive Law for organ-
ising the event and for running and training the
County Junior Players. Thanks also to the St. Elidyr
Club for the use of their mats and equipment and for
the refreshments and to Don Benyon who spent
most of the day on his knees umpiring.

WHEN ARE THE ESMBA GOING TO HAVE THE COURAGE
WHEN ARE THE ESMBA GOING TO HAVE THE COURAGE
TO ENFORCE THEIR OWN DRESS REGULATIONS?
TO ENFORCE THEIR OWN DRESS REGULATIONS?
This is a question a number of people have raised after the Inter-County latter stages
this season but has also been asked in previous seasons, indeed, as far back as 25
years ago. Two of the people who recently asked this question were Umpires them-
selves who were playing as players. They were surprised that the ESMBA and their fel-
low Umpires appeared not to have the courage to enforce the rules and exclude players
from playing. Basically, they are asking the question that if they have paid out for the
correct clothing as required by the ESMBA why are other players allowed to play who
have flouted the rules? I would add that I was not present to witness the “problem”.
