Growers Ice Company

Strengths

• Growers Ice has very dedicated supervisors, most have been here twenty to thirty +
years.
• We know our customers and tenants well and customer service has always been our
priority.
• The owners and the board have always been fair to us. Our new General Manager
supports us and is open to new suggestions and seems to want to grow the
company.
• We are the only ice company in the area that serves the produce and fish industry,
though some companies do have their own ice-making capabilities.
• We own the land and buildings that we are on.
• We have built most of our icemakers and equipment, which are leased and bring in
good revenues.
• The company provides a service that is unique to the industry our ability to adapt to
customer needs, allows us to stand-alone.
• We have a core group of employees that have extensive experience and knowledge
of our unique industry. They have a “whatever it takes attitude” that has gained
Growers Ice a very good reputation in the refrigeration industry. I am optimistic
that most of the employees and management are focused in a positive direction.
• Definitely the staff. Most supervisors have been with the company for twenty years
or more and offer a wealth of knowledge. The owners are great to work with and
seem to truly care about the welfare of their employees.
• The various programs offered here at Growers Ice are a definite plus for the
employees, i.e.: safety, incentive rewards, health benefits and 401k.
• The open door policy for all employees is another plus. Management’s willingness to
hear everyone's concerns is much appreciated.
• First and for most, is the simple fact that the company has been in business for the
last 80 years. This is a huge strength for a company that is privately held and
operated.
