Peanut
Often produced in tropical
regions, peanuts are rich in
oil and protein and contain
numerous health benefits.
Its seeds (which we eat) are
borne in a shell-like pod.
The fruit matures
underground and after
which is used to make
traditional foods drinks:
peanut punches, peanut
cake, and peanut rice

Stew
The Africans have presented
the stew as a dish consisting
of meats or various animals,
vegetables and staples:
dumpling, yam, dasheen;
among others. Popular to
the Jamaican culture, it is
often enjoyed on a Saturday
afternoon. The Meal serves
as a main course as it can
be classified as a ‘one pot
dish’ consisting of food from
the various food groups.
