Tamarinds
Upon arrival to the Caribbean, the
English successfully grew a number
of plants, one of which includes
Tamarind.
The pod-like fruit contains an
edible pulp that is enjoyed in
cuisines around the world.
In Jamaica the tamarind season is
in March and at that time
Tamarind is utilised to make many
foods. The well sought after
Tamarind balls, tamarind juice and
sauces are the main ways in which
the Jamaican culture unties it.

Buns
Buns appear in many shapes and
sizes; often they have a round top
and a flat bottom. Buns are
served as bread or dinner rolls and
are sometimes sweet.
However, the Jamaican culture
has accounted for a little spice
and variation to the traditional
British buns. Therefore there are
larger buns made along with
varied Jamaican spices such as:
nutmeg, vanilla, rosewater; among
others.
Buns are major contributor to the
Easter celebrations where they are
14 eaten with cheese.
