To request authorization through the online portal:
1. Log in to the Tricare Provider portal.
2. Under the Referrals and Authorizations box, click Check or update existing referral or
authorization by provider.
3. In the Search Authorizations window that will appear, select the appropriate Location
from the dropdown menu. Click Search to show all recent services for that location.
4. From the Search Results, click the Patient Name to open their Referral Details.
5. On the Referral Details page, there will be Patient Information, Provider Information,
Case authorization information, and more. Under Referral Details at the top of the page,
click Request Update next to the Auth/order # and Case category information.
