GMSA participates in
Timber Expo 2018
The event was hosted under the theme “Expanding
Markets for Guyanese Timber Products through Public
Education, Awareness and Sensitization to promote a
Greener Guyana.”
Th event, which targetted home owners/builders,
architects, contractors, and engineers was geared
towards highlighting and promoting Guyana Timber and
Timber products and providing information on Lesser
Used Species in Guyana and how they can be utilized in
building projects at lower costs. The event also created
an environment where buyers and suppliers can engage
directly in the local Timber Industry.
In attendance at the opening ceremony were Natural
Resources Minister Raphael Trotman; Public
Communications Minister Cathy Hughes; Guyana
Manufacturing and Services Association President,
Shyam Nokta; Public Infrastructure Minister David
Patterson; the Chairperson of the Guyana Forestry
Commission (GFC), Jocelyn Dow, along with key
embers of the GMSA participated at the Timber members of the Private Sector.
Expo hosted by Forest Products Development & Delivering the feature address, Business Minister
MMarketing Council (FPDMC) and The Guyana Dominic Gaskin underscored the importance of the
Forestry Commission (GFC) at the Guyana National event, noting that over the years Guyana has become
