Quantitative Data Analysis
                                              Simply Explained Using SPSS

               4. Example- 1
H a: There is a significant relationship between teacher salary
                       and students performance.

                       Statistical form H 0:  1≠ 2
                                            H 0:  1 -  2≠ 0
                       or

               5. Example- 2
H 0: There is a significant difference in the emotional stability
between male employees and female employees.

                       Statistical form H 0:  1≠ 2
                                            H 0:  1 -  2≠ 0

                          One-tailed vs Two-tailed Hypotheses

               1. Non-directional (two-tailed) hypothesis

With a two-tailed (non-directional) test, you reject the null
hypothesis if the sample mean is either significantly greater
or less than the hypothesized value. It does not indicate
which groups will have an increase or decrease in what is
being measured (experiments, ex post facto) or the
direction of the relationship (correlational studies).

               2. Directional (one-tailed) hypothesis
