Ⅳ Risk taking behaviors
It is defined as a certain practice with potentially destructive
activity without understanding the consequences.
Those risk behavior factors include (poverty, poor academic
performance, low self-esteem, sense of hopelessness, depression and
criminal behavior.)
a) Substance abuse.
Factors contribute to initial decision to use a substance :
1. Gender: since males use drugs more often
and more highly than females.
2. Increase leisure time
3. Financial resources with lack of other recreational alternatives
4. Poor self-esteem
5. Psychological distress
6. Poor academic achievement
7. Low religiosity
