6. Displaying Points Of Interest (POI)
“I have a 2006 XLR, my personal assistant is on vacation and I’m driving into Denver. I’d
like to display restaurants on my Nav system so I can pick one and have the machine get
me there. Normally my PA would take care of this but I’m on my own today. What can you
do for me?”
The agent should use the Navigation System Cadillac SRX, XLR Navigation Step by Step
Information document, then go to Section IV: Other Nav Features> Displaying POI Icons
on Screen (“Quick POI”) and explain how to display POIs
Then the agent should go to subsection Selecting POI Categories to Appear on the “Quick
POI” Screen and explain how to display restaurants.
Then the agent should go to Section III: Setting and Deleting Destinations> Setting a
Destination by Point of Interest (POI) and explain how to set a restaurant as the
destination.
7. Setting a destination across regions
“I’m in Pekin IL and I’m going to Atwood Kansas. I don’t see how I can set my destination
there, I mean, it’s not that far. I’m taking my father’s 2006 Lucerne. It’s very comfortable!”
The agent should select the Navigation System 2006 Buick Lucerne Step by Step
Information document, then go to Section V: Adjusting System Settings> Setting a
Destination across Regions and explain the two methods for setting destinations across
regions.
8. Setting a destination to an emergency facility
“Help me. My wife’s in the back seat having a baby, I’m lost and I have got to get to a
hospital . . . What? I’m in 2005 Buick something. Will you stop asking questions and hurry
up?”
The agent should select the Navigation System 2005/6 HUMMER Buick Saturn Saab
Step-by-Step Information document, then go to Section 1.4 Setting and Deleting
Destinations> 1.4.11 Setting a Destination by Emergency and explain how to find the list of
emergency facilities and set the destination to a hospital. Then try to calm this guy down
enough to make the entries.
9. Changing the Language Setting
“I have a 2006 STS. My brother is coming to visit next week from Spain and I want to set
the language on my Nav system to Spanish. How do I do that?”
The agent should use the Guide to Step-by-Step Documents to find the Denso TSC Gen
IV Navigation Step by Step Information document, then go to Section V: Adjusting System
Settings> Changing the Language Setting and explain how to change the languages. Page77
Most navigation systems offer only English and French as language options. The Cadillac
STS is an exception.
