Group 5: Interactive Scenarios
21. Setting Preset Stations (radio)
“I lent my 2008 SRX to my Mother-in-law. When I got it back my radio presets were
changed. I am trying to drive to work and I’m getting such a screaming headache from this
music I can’t begin to focus my eyes on the manual. Will you tell me how to get back to my
presets on the radio?”
The agent should search for the 2008 SRX manual and go to Navigation Audio System >
Storing Radio Station Presets.
The answer is: To store presets, do the following:
1. Press the O (power) knob to turn the system on.
2. If viewing a map screen, touch the source screen button, press the AUDIO key, or press
the FAV (favorite) key.
3. Select the band.
4. Seek, scan, or tune to the desired station, to select the station.
5. Press and hold one of the preset screen buttons for more than two seconds or until you
hear a beep.
6. Repeat the steps for each preset.”
22. Audio Menu
“I drive a 2004 Denali. Can you tell me how to fix my radio? If I don’t figure out how to turn
the bass down, I’m going to have to go to the dentist to have my teeth tightened.”
The agent should search for the 2004 Denali manual and go to Navigation Audio System>
Audio Screen> Tone.
The answer is: “Choose from six available settings to adjust the tone of the audio system.
Use the joystick to move between Treble, Midrange, Bass, Balance and Fade. Use the
joystick to move each setting to the desired level.”
23. Speed Compensated Volume (SCV)
“Hi, I don’t have any problems with my navigation system in my 2009 H3. I just thought I
would call with a suggestion for a new feature. I notice that when I drive on the highway I
keep adjusting the volume on the radio. When I go faster, I turn it up and when I slow
down I turn the volume down. I was thinking maybe you could rig a little pulley with some
fishing line to the volume knob and tie the other end to the gas pedal so it could do this
automatically.”
The agent should search for the 2009 Hummer H3 manual and go to Navigation Audio
System> Audio Menu Speed Compensated Volume (SCV).
The answer is: “With SCV, the audio system adjusts automatically to make up for road and
wind noise while driving, by increasing the volume as vehicle speed increases. Touch the
down arrow screen button to access the second page of
The Audio menu. Set the volume at the desired level, then select Low, Med, or High.”
