24. XM™ Radio Messages
“As much I like listening to Howard Stern in my 2007 Silverado, I don’t really want my kids
listening to him. Is there some way I can block that channel and the other heavy language
programs?”
The agent should search for the 2007 Silverado manual and go to Navigation Audio
System > Remove/Add XM Categories.
The answer is: “Touch the Remove/Add XM Categories screen button to remove or add
XM categories when selecting XM categories from the category list screen. The list of XM
categories will appear on the screen. Use the up and down arrow screen buttons to scroll
through the list. The categories to remove will be highlighted and the categories to add will
be dark in color. Touch the category that you would like to add or remove.”
25. Canceling Guidance
“I’ve got a 2008 Grand Prix, a wife, two daughters and five people at work who think
they’re my boss. I don’t need someone else telling me what to do. Can you fix it so my
navigation system doesn’t talk to me?”
The agent should search for the 2008 Grand Prix manual, then go to Voice Recognition
Commands> Guidance Commands > Voice Guidance Off
This command will cause the system to turn off the navigation voice prompts if a
destination has been set.
