Group 7: Interactive Scenarios
31. Enter Destinations in Park
“Hi, I’m driving my 2008 Equinox down Riverside Drive and I decided I’d like to try out my
navigation system. I want to enter a destination by typing in an address but the system
doesn’t work. Can you help me figure out what’s wrong with it?”
The agent should search for the 2008 Equinox manual and go to Getting Started.
The answer is: “Entering a destination or alphanumeric text requires many steps, so you
can only perform these operations when the vehicle is in PARK (P). You will notice that
touch-sensitive screen buttons leading to the alphanumeric keyboard are dimmed out
while driving.”
32. Setting Home Location
“I want to be able to get a route home from wherever I am. Can you help me with this? I
drive a 2007 STS.”
The agent should search for the 2007 Cadillac STS manual and go to Overview>Getting
Started> Storing a Home Destination.
The answer is:
“1. Press the power/volume knob to turn the system on.
2. Insert the DVD map disc. See “Installing the Map DVD” under Maps on page 18 for
more information. A notice may appear. Touch the I Agree screen button to proceed.
3. Press the Map hard key.
4. Press the Menu screen button from the map screen.
5. Press the N Memory Points screen button.
6. Press the L Home screen button.
7. Press the Add screen button.
8. Press the Address screen button and enter all address information.
9. Press the OK screen button. The L Home icon will be highlighted on the DESTINATION
ENTRY screen.”
33. Estimated Travel Time
“It’s been a while since I drove my daughter’s 2006 Rendezvous, but I’m not seeing the
estimated travel time any more. It seems to me I used to.”
The agent should search for the 2006 Buick Rendezvous manual and go to Navigation
Menu> Navigation Setup> Estimated Travel Time.
The answer is: Explain to the customer how to turn estimated time back on. “Estimated
Travel Time: This feature displays the estimated time to travel from your current position to
the destination. Touch the On screen button to have the estimated travel time displayed
with the distance to destination, or the Off screen button to turn this feature off.”
