The result of the analysis shows that there is a significant role of job
insecurity on work stress (B = 0.478; p <0.01). The results of this study are in line

with research by Greenhalgh and Rosenblatt (1984) which shows the relationship

between job insecurity and stress. Ashford (1989) stated job insecurity as the

mental state of the employees where they feel that their work is threatened and
they are powerless to do anything to solve the problems. Ganster and Rosen

(2013) suggest job control works to inhibit the rate of work stress caused by

workload, conflict, and others. Based on the results of the research and some

opinions above, the work stress can be reduced when efforts are made to

improve the sense of security in work, enhanced its authority in planning and
controlling their work. The future assurance of employees will motivate and

                        lower the employee's stress level.

Employee work stress can also be reduced through increased religiosity.

Research conducted by Roostaee (2016) states a negative relationship between

religious coping with work stress. The higher level of religiosity of a person in
dealing with problems, the lower level of his stress in facing work problems.

The biggest factor related to work stress is religious activity. So that the

enhancement of religious activity of the employees is expected to decrease their

work stress. The result of this research shows that job insecurity variable together

with religiosity variable have a significant role to predict work stress with
effective contribution of 29,5%, so that work stress management will be more

effective if job insecurity decrease program is followed by religious activity

                        program.

In the other hand, the situation of the work environment affects the
level of work stress. The results showed that subjects at the research sites with

high levels of security disturbances have a higher level of work stress. This result

is in accordance with the opinion of Robbins and Judge (2015) who stated that

environmental factors can affect work stress.
