To provide timely, accurate, high-value and actionable business insights to
South African Pork Producers and industry partners.

SAPPO World of Pork Platform

The World of Pork (WoP) platform is operational and can be accessed at
www.worldofpork.com. The Business Intelligence dashboards are the main
feature currently available to the members. The next phase is the “My Data”
dashboard which will provide an overview of the member’s data that is
captured or entered on the WoP. This dashboard is currently being tested.

The platform will serve all SAPPO functions and will be upgraded over time to
address industry needs. This platform is built on a Microsoft foundation and
we have partnered with AccTech to implement the upgrade. The WoP
platform will enable:
- producers to access and manage their own data and allow secondary
users such as Farm Managers access,
- the rapid deployment of new business intelligence outputs,
- integration with third-party systems,
- the creation of new mobile applications for members, veterinarians and
our business development managers,
- improve the registration process,
- track usage of the platform.

At the end of March, 72% of the 441 pig producers on the platform are
managed by a Primary Contact. The number of sows registered on the
platform is 67 652, or 58.8% of the estimated national sow herd.

The dashboards that are currently uploaded on the WoP are:
• Abattoirs;
• Slaughter Statistics;
• Retail Prices;
• International Prices;
• Feed; and
• Trade

The next dashboards that are in the process of development:
• Key Statistics;
• My Data;
• Dashboards specifically for the use of SAPPO admin; and
