Specific structural design details are to be Specific contractor Design &

of the job, such as:
Structural Engineer
a. Stage extension design
b. Steel work connection to brickwork (re
Façade)
c. Brickwork remediation
d. Rooftop plant stand handrail
e. Pit demolition/excavation
methodology re stage support
f. Cassette unit installations to trussed
roof of science block. Considerations
for load and cutting trusses will be
required.
g. Brickwork demolition in science
corridors.
JANDS
a. Pit sump with regards to structure and
function
b. Electrical design for pit.
All structural elements that may require a
crane will have appropriate clearances
obtained prior and advance notification to
the school will be provided. Crane areas
and pathways will be isolated at all times.
3.4 SERVICES & FINISHES
Staging plans will be developed for all
mile stone events.
The works will be organised such that the
following aspects of services installation
are recognised in the programme:
Review and approval process for shop
drawings
Lead times for plant and specified
materials
DALI and CBUS procurement,
installation, programming and
configuration
AC plant and pipework
AV installations (it is noted that this
may be managed by the client directly
and liaison with Boss will be provided)
Construct criteria review and
integration into project, such as:
a. JANDS pit design, inc. sump and
access to excavated area
b. External rooftop plant stand design
c. External rooftop plant stand access
system
d. External rooftop plant stand cable,
duct and pipework reticulation and
protection
e. Façade connection to building
brickwork
f. Hydraulic management of subfloor
drainage systems (Ref Auditorium pit)
3.5 CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE &
PLANNING
The locations and types of plant may vary
depending on the results of more detailed
planning as the design
solidifies and the availability of plant is
firmed up. There will be 3 distinct phases
requiring different material handling logic
to construct the building efficiently and
minimise impact on surrounding streets
and neighbours. The phases are:
Phase 1. Site establishment;
Demolition; Excavation and pit
installation
Phase 2. Auditorium works, Science
lab works and façade works
Phase 3. System commissioning and
configuration.
*Each Phase will not happen in isolation.
Phase 2 and 3 will happen simultaneously
once the structure is sufficiently complete
to allow the finishes trades to commence
on other levels. It is assumed that:
The school has a compliant rooftop
safety system in place.
Electricity and water can be provided.
Amenities will be maintained
separately by the contractor.
Onsite parking will be available in
reasonable numbers given the scope
of works and number of contractors
anticipated.
