Employment Classifications
Classification for an employee's payroll, determination of benefits, and other
administrative procedures are as follows:
Exempt/Salaried Employees - are exempt from the minimum wage, overtime,
and timesheet provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (Wage Hour Law) as
amended and applicable state laws.
Non-Exempt/Hourly Employees - are not exempt from minimum wage,
overtime and timecard of the Fair Labor Standards Act (Wage Hour Law) as
amended and applicable state laws. These employees receive overtime premium
pay, at one and a half their hourly wage, for hours worked over 40 in a single
week. Paid or unpaid time off does not calculate in hours worked.
Full-Time Employees - are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours on
average per week on a continuing basis. Employees within this category are
eligible for all Cliff’s Amusement Park benefits.
Part-Time Employees - are regularly scheduled to work less than the prescribed
number of full-time hours weekly (30) on a continuing basis.
Seasonal Employees - service is intended to be of limited duration. An
employee will not change from season status to another status unless
specifically informed in writing by the HR Director. Seasonal employees are not
eligible for employer-sponsored benefits.
Hours of Work
Scheduling will be discussed in your new employee orientation.
Part-time and seasonal employees: Most areas are required to arrive at work ½ an hour
prior to opening and may not be dismissed until ½ to 1 hour after closing. This may be
20-40 hours a week, depending on the time of the season. Part-time and seasonal
employees are also expected to work weekends and holidays.
The daily and weekly work schedules may be changed from time to time by Cliff’s
Amusement Park to meet various event requirements. Although we reserve the right
to change work schedules, all changes will be announced as far in advance as
practical.
Pay Periods
Pay periods run Sunday to Saturday.
Employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis, 26 times annually through direct deposit or a
pay card option (similar to a debit/credit card). In the event that you lose your paycard,
