Workplace Violence
It is the policy of Cliff’s Amusement Park to provide to each of our employees a workplace
free from violence, including any acts or threats of violence by any employees, former
employees, and customers against any other employee in or about Cliff’s Amusement
Park’s facilities. Cliff’s Amusement Park will not condone any acts or threats of violence
against employees, customers, or visitors on Cliff’s premises at any time or while they are
engaged in business with or on behalf of the company, on or off Cliff’s Amusement Park’s
premises.
In keeping with the spirit and intent of this policy, and to ensure Cliff’s Amusement Park’s
objectives in this regard are attained, we are committed to the following:
1. To provide a safe and healthful work environment and to seek to eliminate the
potential for violence in and around the workplace.
2. To take prompt remedial action up to and including immediate termination, against
any employee who engages in any threatening behavior or acts of violence or who
uses any obscene, abusive, or threatening language or gestures.
3. To take appropriate action when dealing with customers, former employees, or
visitors to Cliff’s Amusement Park’s facilities who engage in such behavior. Such
action may include notifying law enforcement and prosecuting violators of this
policy to the maximum extent of the law.
4. Cliff’s Amusement Park prohibits the wearing, transporting, storage or presence of
firearms or other dangerous weapons in Cliff’s Amusement Park’s facilities or on
Cliff’s property. Any employee in possession of a firearm or other weapon while in
our facilities, on our property, or while otherwise fulfilling job responsibilities may
face disciplinary action up to and including immediate termination. A customer or
visitor who violates this policy may be removed from the premises and reported to
law enforcement authorities. Possession of a valid concealed weapon permit
authorized by the State of New Mexico is not an exemption under this policy.
5. Cliff’s Amusement Park requires every employee who seeks or obtains a
restraining order or who is the subject of a restraining order to advise Human
Resources within 24 hours of seeking or obtaining that order, or entry of that order,
and to promptly provide a copy of it so that compliance can be monitored.
Any acts or threats of violence, whether on or off duty, will not be tolerated. Employees
must refrain from fighting, “horseplay”, or any other conduct that may cause danger to
themselves or others. This policy applies to our interactions with other employees,
managers, clients, and anyone else with whom we interact with professionally.
