point system that evaluates a student’s performance according to the four criteria: scholarship, character,
leadership, and service.
The Candidate Form.
A student must meet the minimum requirement of 25 POINTS on the Candidate Form to continue within the
selection process. The points are tallied as follows:
Candidate Form
(25 Points Minimum to be Eligible)
5 Points Awarded with verification of pre-requisite four (4) hours
of service.
5 Points Awarded with full completion and submission of Essay
(all directions followed).
5 Points Minimum needed in the Service category.
5 Points Minimum needed in the Leadership category.
5 Points+ All additional points can be awarded from any section of
the Candidate Form – service, leadership, and/or
character. Additional points can also be added to the
Essay portion if the Essay proves to be over and above
reasonable expectations.
The Faculty Evaluation Survey.
A student must meet the minimum requirement of earning a total accumulation of 15 POINTS from the Faculty
Evaluation Surveys completed on their behalf to remain eligible.
The Faculty Evaluation Survey will use the following criteria when students are evaluated. As there is a
minimum academic requirement to be eligible for the National Honor Society, which students have already met,
this criterion will not be part of the scoring.
