vigorous faster pace. Students will be required to write a term paper every marking period, as well as various
projects concerned with analyzing literary material and differentiated governments.
Pre-requisite: A grade of 86 in United States History I-Honors or a grade of 90 in United States History I.
Level: III – Advanced Credits: 05
The second year of a two-year course requirement, United States History II covers the political, social,
and economic events which have shaped our country. All students will acquire the knowledge and skills to think
analytically about how past and present interactions of people, cultures, and the environment shape the American
heritage. Students will be required to read and analyze literary materials based on differentiated government. This
course will cover U.S. History from the post-Civil War time period up to and including present day events. Pre-
requisite: US History I
Level: II- College Preparatory Credits: 05

WORLD HISTORY

This is a one-year course designed to acquaint students with geographic, economic, social, cultural and
political aspects of world history. Civilizations from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas from the post-
classical era to modern times will be examined. Students will be required to read and analyze literary materials.
This course will go beyond the typical survey approach by employing the higher level thinking skills of analyzing,
evaluating, and synthesizing world events and problems. Pre-requisite: A grade of 90 in US History.
