CHRIST set forth for our abundant living. Reverend King

dreamed of the days that would come when all people
would judge one another by the content of their
character with no thought given to the color of their skin

(refer to Chapter 2 discussion on a Biblically based self-
            identity).

Throughout this book we will echo our central thesis

that CHRIST alone is both necessary and sufficient for
lasting healing for humanity. We will expound on this
theme in detail, as well as, the urgency for Christians to

lead this healing, in Chapter 10. For those who truly
abide in CHRIST, it is impossible for them to think, act or

hold primitive “racist” enmities. They will view others
through Spiritual fruit, rather than outward

appearances. Those who do not abide in CHRIST are
more susceptible to succumbing to the sinful pitfall of

harboring “racist” urges or thoughts and erroneous
perceptions of humankind through the lens of skin color.

Their conscious actions will either over-compensate or
otherwise under-compensate in deference to “so-called
                                                                       39
racist” perceptions. Thus, CHRIST alone is sufficient !

Because of the example and the leadership of Reverend

Martin Luther King, Jr., large numbers of people were
awakened and began to change. Like great leaders, he

motivated them to want to be better people. Those
