Corruption of Bribery

Chapter 6 : Corruption in the “Carbon World”

Or is it quite so simple? Firstly, it is important to recognise the difference between carbon dioxide
emissions and concentrations. Emissions are what are pumped into the atmosphere on a daily
basis. Around 3% is manmade (or anthropogenic), with 97% coming from natural sources such as
oceans, trees and plants, and animals. Emissions add to concentrations already present but in a
logarithmic rather than linear way. Thus a 20% rise in emissions might add 2% or less to
                             18
concentrations but the indications are that carbon dioxide lingers in the atmosphere for around
150 years. It is a colourless odourless gas that is critical to the planet’s survival: it is not nasty
stuff; not like a fart in a spacesuit (see Chapter xx)

Believers argue that the consumption of fossil fuels such as coal and oil have resulted in
                                                  2
unprecedented concentrations of CO in the atmosphere (currently around 375ppm meaning
375/1,000,000 which is a very small amount), resulting in increased radiative feedback and an
unmatched rise in global average temperature of between 0.2 and 0.6 degrees Centigrade over
               the past 100 years.

Thus, the entire “global warming” scare is built on what most people would regard as a very minor change. It is
only the predictions of future rises that are so scary and these are constructed on computer models that are no
more accurate than random (see page xx).

As we will see later, the margins of error in various “Dodgy Dossiers” could more than account
for the alleged rise which, in any case, is far from “unprecedented”. If it has happened at all it is
restricted to the Northern Hemisphere where carbon dioxide concentrations are just the same as
they are in the Southern Hemisphere. So if carbon dioxide concentrations are the cause, why are
there variations in temperature changes between North and South?

18 Although the logarithmic relationship is not disputed, the ratios are
