Chapter 6 : Corruption in the “Carbon World”
If the global warming case is “unarguable” why are “believers” so nasty, unprepared to debate
or to allow their findings to be scrutinised? You don’t have to be a climate scientist to know that

when people refuse to answer questions , answering would not be to their advantage.
2.4 Two Sides to Every Story
No doubt unbelievers and agnostics are not perfect and there is evidence that some of their
behaviour, publications and blogs have irritated and inconvenienced honest research. Sometimes
unbelief has been funded by organisations with vested interests. This is not entirely surprising
given the overwhelming bias of governments, research establishments, charities and others
towards funding the “noble cause” (see page xx).
The allegation that large oil and power companies fund “unbelievers” is counterfactual. Their profits are at an all‐
time high: energy shortages have doubled or trebled balance sheet asset values; they have jumped on the
“climate change” bandwagon with enthusiasm for the profits, subsidies and other benefits believing brings. Why
on earth should they oppose it or try and change the status quo?
2.5 Control of Fraud and Corruption
The “Carbon World” has created new risks, involving new players, a new currency and financial
instruments, backed by nothing other than hot air, and exchange and trading mechanisms that
are demonstrably insecure and unregulated. There is no such thing as a “Suspicious Activity
Report” in the “Carbon World” and virtually no enforcement.
PRINCIPLE
There is no suspicious activity reporting in the Carbon World. Participants simply do not want to
know
For these reasons fraud and corruption prevention becomes an absolute priority for everyone
involved: believers and unbelievers alike. The “Carbon World” is finely balanced and pivots on the
precision of the causal science and the effectiveness of reduction and abatement measures.
