Chapter 6 : Corruption in the “Carbon World”

 In 2008, a Japan Geoscience Union Symposium survey showed 90% of participants did not
believe the IPCC reports on “global warming”

 In 2009, 700 key scientists signed a Senate report (Inhofe) debunking man‐made global
warming claims. “The only temperature data we can trust is the satellite measurements
and they only go back as far as 1979. They show no warming whatsoever in the Southern
hemisphere and the warming trend in the Northern hemisphere appears to have waned”

 In February 2010 Terry Mills, Professor of Applied Statistics and Econometrics at
Loughborough University examined the same data as the IPCC and found that reported
global warming was equally as likely to have been caused by random fluctuations as
emissions of greenhouse gases
 In March 2011, Prof J Scott Armstrong from the University of Pennsylvania, Keston C
Green from the University of South Australia and Willy Soon of the Harvard Smithsonian
Centre for Astrophysics gave evidence before the US Committee on Science, Space and
Technology Subcommittee on Energy and Environment. Their evidence was to the effect
that 85% of the 90 relevant principles of research and forecasting were violated by the
IPCC and that the modelled long‐term forecasts (in fact scenarios) were 12.5 times larger
than those from evidence‐based models. They urged the US government not to provide
funding for further climate research or to pass legislation on remedial actions. They
continued: “the global warming alarm is not based on what has happened but on what
will happen. In other words it is forecasting problem. Based on our analysis, we conclude
that the man‐made global warming alarm is an anti‐scientific political movement”
 In June 2011, Mike Lockwood a Professor of Space Environmental Physics at Reading
University predicted that the world could be heading for a new ice age
 In July 2011 India's Environmental Minister stated that human induced global warming is
much less than is claimed by the IPCC and that most of the observed temperature
fluctuations could be attributed to cosmic rays and varying emissions from the sun.

There are also hundreds of books written by unbelievers, reports from the House of Lords,
thousands of “contrarian” articles, web pages, blogs and “Twitters”

David Evans, Consultant to the Australian Department of Climate Change from 1999 to 2005, a former IPCC
insider and author stated:

"Let's get a few things straight. The whole idea of carbon dioxide as the main cause of the recent global warming
is based on a guess that was proved false by empirical evidence during the 1990s. But the gravy train was too
big, with too many jobs, industries, trading profits, political careers, and the possibility of world government in
total control riding on the outcome. So rather than admit that they were wrong, the governments, and their tame
climate scientists, now outrageously maintain the fiction that carbon dioxide is a dangerous pollutant" June 2011.
