P resident S tro n g: Mr. Colcord has made a motion, which
yon have heard, and which is seconded.

                           M r. t ' o i c c R i i : The r e s o l u t i o n i s t h a t t h i s q u e s t i o n i s laid o n
                      t h e table. 1 h e o t h e r p a r t o f t h e resolution is simply a s u g g e s t i o n .
1’residext S trong- As I understood, we were to take up

with the manufacturers the question as individuals?

Mr. Co i . c o r d : Xo, to try to handle it in an individual manner

                      — that is,— to return the checks where the cash discount is taken.
It is not a part of the resolution, but a suggestion. The resolution
is that the cash discount question be laid on the table.

T he motion having received a second is unanimously carried.
President S trong: The next question that comes up is
miscellaneous business. Mr. Puchta has a resolution to read.
                           M r. P u c t i t a : “Resolved that this Convention of the
National Supply & Machinery Dealers' Association heartily
endorses the action of the manufacturers who have shown their
                      disposition to co-operate with us.
“ Be it further resolved that the members of this Association
support such manufacturers in every practicable manner to
                      encourage and establish this policy.’’
M r. M cI ntosh : I move the adoption of the resolution, and
also that it be given to the press.
                           M r. B r a d l e y : I suggest that the word “possible” be
changed to "practicable.” That is more in keeping with what we
are trying to do. “Possible” is a pretty big word.
Mr. Puchta agrees to the change suggested. The motion was
                      seconded and carried unanimously.

                           P r e s id e n t S trong : We are still under miscellaneous busi
ness. Is there any other business under that head?

                           M r. M cI n to sh : I have two amendments to the By-Laws
                      recommended by the Executive Committee.
S ecreta ry A nderson : The Executive Committee recom
                      mends as follows:
“To amend Article 11 of the Constitution to read as follows:
The annual meetings of the Association shall be held on the second
Wednesday in May each year, at such place as shall be selected
