b. There will be a Board of Directors and A Ministerial Board, for the NW New Jersey Chapter of the Spirit
Gathering.
1 These Boards are responsible for upholding the Constitution of this Church, in addition to the duties
set forth in these By-laws.
2 Officers of these two Boards shall be elected by the "Members in Good Standing" and shall serve a
term of one year.
3 There shall be no limit to the number of terms an Officer may serve.
4 Officers of these two Boards are charged with the responsibility of familiarizing themselves with the
tax laws governing Non-Profit Organizations and to be diligent in following those rules.
c. There will be an office of Bishop for National Headquarters of The Spirit Gathering. This position will be
filled by the founding Minister, Rev. Susan C. Nigra; and will be a lifetime position.
1. The Bishop is responsible for all business coming under the purview of the Central Organization,
and as defined in the Ministerial Duties.
Article III – Annual Convention
Section 01 The Annual convention of this Organization for the transaction of Business and Election of Officers to the
Ministerial Board and the Executive Board shall convene each year in April at a time and place designated by the
Executive Board, and announced by the Executive Board no less than thirty (30) days prior to said convention.
Section 02 The Following order of business shall be addressed.:
a. Meeting Called to order by the President of the Board
b. Invocation
c. Roll Call of Officers.
d. Roll Call of Members.
e. Reading of Minutes from previous Convention.
f. Reports of Officers.
g. Reports of Standing and Select Committees.
h. Unfinished Business.
i. New Business.
j. Election of Officers to the Executive Board.
k. Election of Officers to the Ministerial Board.
l. Adjournments.
m. Benediction.
Section 03 The Membership in Good Standing present shall constitute a quorum.
Section 04 All actions of the Annual Convention shall be approved by a simple majority.
Section 05 Paper Ballots will be used for both Executive Board and Ministerial Board Elections.
Section 06 The Rules of Order shall be as set forth in Article VIII.
Section 07 A new Member Church will have a Special Convention to elect Executive Officers and Ministerial Board
members at the earliest possible time. These Elected Officials will serve until the first Annual Convention in April. Until
the Special Convention, the Incorporating Trustees will serve as Officers of the Ministerial and Executive Board.
Article IV – Ministerial Board – Duties and Powers
Section 01 All Ordained Ministers who have been ordained or sanctioned by this Organization will be henceforth
known as Staff Ministers and as such will comprise the Ministerial Board. All other Ordained Ministers shall be known
as Associate Ministers.
Section 02 Staff and Associate Ministers shall have the same rights and privileges with the exception that Associate
Ministers may not serve or vote on the Ministerial Board, nor may they perform Ordinations.
Section 03 The Ministerial Board shall be headed by a Director and Assistant Director elected by the Membership at
the Annual Convention. The Ministerial Board Secretary will be a volunteer position from among the Ministerial Board
Members, and approved by the Director of the Ministerial Board.
